Frederic Magazine Shows Mrs. Collins

Hand-engraved “Thank You” notecards are now featured in Frederic Magazine Volume 15 / XV. The “Look of the Moment: Well Prepped” story was produced by Eugenia Santiesteban Soto. It was written by Emma Bazilian and Jill Simpson.

Mrs. Collins is well known for hand-drawn then hand-engraved monograms and ciphers. She is also adept at hand lettering in her iconic, kookie style of no style at all. These cards, originally published in the 1990s, can now be published on a bespoke basis and available in a curated pallet of colors.

The cards are thick. Thick enough to show off the radius corners and bevel edging that is gilded in silver by hand. The envelopes, too, are completely artisanal and hand-made. Produced in editions of one hundred, the price is $2800. Inquiries are regularly entertained by contacting Mrs. Collins on the CONTACT page.

A few words about Mrs. Collins’s hand lettering: Her’s is not calligraphy. Rather, Mrs. Collins uses her favorite, stubby, graphite pencil to “build” letters and monogram designs in a 20th-century design process. Quite interesting and different looking than is calligraphy.
